BA Mass Communication and Media Studies

Offered through ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, the BA in Mass Communication and Media Studies gives students a deep and nuanced understanding of the growing importance, power and influence of media around the world. The program explores global mass communication issues from all dimensions: societal, cultural, historical, political, economic, technological and legal. Students learn how to critically analyze media, from news to sports to pop culture, and apply that understanding to the world around them.

Students enrolled at an ASU Cintana Alliance Network institution have the chance to start their courses at their home institution and transfer those credits* to finish their remaining years at ASU.

Admission Requirements

Minimum transfer Grade Point Average (GPA): Transfer students must have a minimum 2.50 cumulative transfer GPA (with a 3.00 GPA in core competency coursework (4.00 = “A”).
You must have and present a completed high school diploma or certificate.
You must submit official transcripts from every high school, college and university you attended, regardless if a degree was earned.

Proof of English proficiency: 100 iBT TOEFL; 7.0 IELTS; PTE 73; Duolingo 120 or equivalent; Global Launch’s online English for Undergraduate Admission or full-time English Language Program (campus or online immersion).
